Description
This spider was quite large and ducked into a crevice between a rock and a wooden bridge when I approached. I waited patiently and it re-emerged and I got this shot. I just noticed as I was preparing to post it that the spider is missing one leg (right side at the back).

V/F Looks like a Dolomedes tenebrosus (but could be Dolomedes scriptus). These (if it is one) can reach a 3" leg span. This would be a female and she's a beauty! Wonderful photo, Doris:>)

Thanks Rory. I never thought that I would photograph spiders given my phobia but here I am! :-)
Wibada Photo
I love spider photography! Looks like a Huntsman (or Housekeeping) spider?
Doris Potter replied:
Hi Wibada. I looked up Huntsman and Housekeeping spiders and the appearance is very similar but it seems that they don't come as far north as Canada. Then again, maybe this one hitched a ride! :-)
