Description
This firefly was very good to me. I accidentally knocked it upside down when it was on a leaf on the ground where I was photographing a flower. It flew onto this woody stem and then stayed there while I snapped a great many pictures of it from various angles and with various camera settings. Every so often it would turn its head and look at me directly. I have great affection for this little creature!

Looks like his antenna is made up of heart segments : ) and he has a dusting if gold on him. Love his big eye and his personality shines thru

I noticed the same thing about the little hearts!! We really do have the same eye for details.

L/V This is magnificent macro work, Doris! You have an amazing library of beautiful photos:>) Many bugs seem to have an abundance of personality and one feels fortunate to have met them:>)
Doris Potter replied:
You are so kind Mother Nature. I aspire to reach your level of skill and that of many others on FAA. I agree about bug personalities and truly do feel fortunate to have met them. Just like I do with mammals and birds, I thank them after the photo shoot.
