Description
This lichen forms a "question mark" but I've been able to ID it as Cryptothecia rubrocincta thanks to Wikipedia. This specimen was found at Big Cypress Bend park in Florida.

Hi Doris....I am a fairly new photographer and noticed you visited my gallery and commented on my cat photo...thank you! I came to see what you have been up to! I am really enjoying your gallery. I have added you to my watch list. This is such an intriguing form of lichen...I have walked many miles in the forest and never seen anything like it! Very observant of you to capture it! L
Doris Potter replied:
Hi Sandi, thank you for your nice comments and for adding me to your watch list (I will do likewise). I just read your biography and it was lovely! The poem was a delight as well. Regarding this lichen, I think it is only found in southern areas as I have never seen it in Canada. By the way, I have been to Victoria but never Kamloops (yet) and I think you live in one of the most beautiful of all the provinces!

Hi Kathy. Don't worry, I would always want you to be honest. We think alike anyway. Thanks for saying you are my #1 fan. :-)

never seen anything like it ,interesting but creeps me out
Doris Potter replied:
Me too Kathy! In fact I saw several specimens of it but only photographed this one as something to look up one day. It sort of reminded me of blood.
