Doris, A nice find. I've been going back to the same place each year in the same week of May and find a basketful of them. Very nice eating. Maybe next year you can try one. Be sure to split in half to remove any slugs or isopods that like to hide in the hollow interior. Thanks for sharing on the MycoArt group. Best wishes. Tim

Doris Potter replied:

Thanks Tim. I was quite excited by this find! :-)

Wonderfully captured! Did you eat it? They are the most delicious mushrooms:-)! Thanks for sharing!

Doris Potter replied:

Thanks Xueling. I have heard that they are delicious but I wanted this one to live out its full life if possible. (Maybe wildlife eat them?).
