Description
Red Spider Mites emerge from hibernation in March and April. This little guy is about 0.4mm in length. I noticed him on the trunk of a tree as I was watching a larger spider.

Great capture! It is hard to catch them when they are so small and mobile. Congrats! ,Doris.

Thanks Kathy. It took several tries (with him running around during all of it) but I got this one shot that was OK.

V/F EXCELLENT MACRO! As kids we used to love to watch these guys then capture a couple to bring home and check out under the microscope. Lovely detail - you did great!!!
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks so much Carol. Gee, as a kid I was AFRAID of all these creatures - except butterflies! LOL
