Seven lovely little Raccoons and their Mum were living in this tree. They started coming out one by one and it was amazing that the cavity could hold so many! I don't know how the one on the bottom managed to breathe!

this looks like the cottonwoods in my yard-- alas mine don't overflow with adorable raccoons. i'd be trembling with excitement too much to get this marvelous shot: perfect in color, detail and composition!

Thanks so much for your very nice comment! I was trembling indeed when I started the photo shoot and then when I saw that they were comfortable with me, my heart rate settled down. :-)

It's so cute to see them jostle with each other to look out the hole in the tree. They often argue and growl.

Wow......I adore the raccoon images! I would have been transfixed just watching the activity between mom and kids! :)
