My passion is to express Nature's beauty through photography. I am self-taught and like things simple. Thus, photo manipulation is kept to a minimum. Cool color. I would have mistaken it for some tiny Iris bloom.
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks Rory. Even though they are tiny, that bright orange color catches one's attention for sure!
Kathryn Whitaker
This is a beautiful shot! v/f
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks so much Kathryn. :-)

Lovely photography! These abound by our dirches and in damp locations, and we do use them (leaves) crushed and rubbed onto our skin to help with contact with poison ivy until we can get to a place to wash off the poison ivy oil. Some folks pooh-pooh that as an "Old Wive's Tale" and true, it isn't fool proof, but it does help:>) V/F
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks Mother Nature. I think I read on Wikipedia about the anti-poison ivy use. If it can help, why not use it, right?
Joseph G Holland
This looks so much like an orchid. Excellent work
Doris Potter replied:
I didn't think of that but it does look like an orchid! Thanks Joseph.
Warren Thompson
Beautiful. Never heard of a jewel weed.
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks very much Warren!
