Such a beautiful image - I love the way the black anhingas contrast with the white pelicans and how they are all looking together in exactly the opposite direction. How did you talk them into doing this?? ;) The little guys on the left add a really nice dimension. Fabulous shot! VF

Thanks so much Christy. Many of the things you mention are what made me like the grouping! I wish I did have powers to talk them into doing things. Among the group (but not in the photo) was a Roseate Spoonbill sleeping and it wouldn't raise its head from under its wing! Thanks for the VF. :-)

Wonderful image Doris. I love watching the pelicans march together and fly together. One time in wetlands I heard the sound of rushing water. Turning the corner I saw a mass of these white pelicans marching through the water. It was fantastic. I was so surprised I totally blew the shot! It's nice to visit your great site! v

Thanks for your kind words John! How wonderful that you saw the pelicans marching through the water (even if you blew the shot)! I didn't know that they did that.

Doris, it's been awhile, but I had to stop in and check out your incredible work! I love this one! v/f

V/F This made me smile, it's so typical of low tide in many places with the mix of different birds. You always find the perfect moment - love the pelican just taking off:>)
Doris Potter replied:
Thanks so much Carol. I thought the Pelican taking off added extra interest to the photo. :-)

This is wonderful Doris!! :)

Thanks Fraida. You take such wonderful Pelican shots and I was so happy to get this one even though they were at a distance.
